Dust Off Your Lemonade Stand and Whip Up These Refreshing Drinks
With the sun beaming down this season, a cool glass of lemonade is definitely in order. You can sip on a refreshing drink right in the comfort of your home with these tasty recipes!
Old Fashioned Lemonade
You’ll need: 8 cups of water, 1 3/4 cup of white sugar, 1 1/2 cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice
Step 1: Take a small saucepan and combine the sugar with 1 cup of water. Then, bring the mixture to a boil and stir continuously to dissolve the sugar.
Step 2: Once dissolved, allow the syrup mixture to cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate until its chilled.
Step 3: Next, remove the seeds from the lemon juice (leaving the pulp). Then, in a pitcher, stir together the remaining cups of water, chilled syrup, and lemon juice.
Step 4: Refrigerate the lemonade and serve cold with lemon slices in each glass.
Fresh Peach Lemonade
You’ll need: 4 cups of water (divided), 1 cup of sugar, 3/4 cup of lemon juice, 1 lemon (sliced), 2 medium peaches (chopped), mint springs (optional)
Step 1: Take a small saucepan and bring 2 cups of water the cup of sugar to a boil. Add in the peaches, cover, and simmer for about 7 minutes.
Step 2: Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool. Then, strain and discard the peach skins.
Step 3: Take a large pitcher and combine the lemon juice, peach mixture, and the remaining water. Then, add extra lemon slices and mint springs if desired. Serve the lemonade in a glass over ice.
Kiwi Lemonade
You’ll need: 3/4 cup of lemon juice, 3/4 cup of sugar, 8 kiwi (peeled and divided), 1 liter of water (or carbonated water)
Step 1: Slice two of the kiwi into small slices. Then, take an ice cub tray and place pieces of kiwi into each slot. Fill the ice cub tray with water and freeze.
Step 2: Next, cut the remaining kiwi fruit into pieces and blend in a food processor until smooth. Strain and discard the pulp.
Step 3: Take a large pitcher and pour the lemon juice and sugar inside. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, then stir in the kiwi puree.
Step 4: Refrigerate the syrup until chilled. Then, just before serving stir, in the cold water or carbonated water. Serve the kiwi lemonade over kiwi ice cubes and enjoy!
