The Renegade, a subcompact crossover, was first shown to the public in 2014. Then, in 2018, Jeep slightly redesigned the vehicle and gave it some upgrades. Since that wasn’t very long ago, the 2022 Jeep Renegade is a carry-over model. That means it is only receiving minor updates and will resemble its 2021 predecessor. This ride can prove to be perfect for you, though, but you’ll never know unless you check it out in person. After all, hearing about features will only get you so far. So, if you’re near Paris, TX, visit Jay Hodge Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of Paris. The 2022 Renegade is on our lot, waiting to show you what it has to offer.
If you appreciate options, the 2022 Renegade is a good choice. It is available in five trims: Sport, Latitude, Altitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The inside of the subcompact crossover remains virtually unchanged. However, there are a couple of notable differences, like a new steering wheel design and an updated touch-screen unit. In addition, consumers can choose between washable leather or cloth seats, and the floor has all-weather mats. That makes cleanup a breeze for those planning on going off-roading.
The 2022 Jeep Renegade seats five, and it has ample space for passengers to stay comfortable. For example, occupants in the front get 41.1 inches of headroom and 41.2 inches of legroom. Meanwhile, the second row offers 40.5 inches of headroom and 35.1 inches of legroom. Plus, the vehicle gives you enough cargo capacity at 18.5 cubic feet to store gear, luggage, or other items.
Thanks to the exterior upgrades the Renegade received a few years back, it is handsome and looks similar to the Wrangler. There are defined lines, curves, round headlights, a seven-slot intake grille, and more. As such, the outside didn’t change much this time around. But, there is a new front bumper and fascia that add to the vehicle’s visual appeal. Also, you get to pick one of seven exterior colors to ensure your Jeep makes a statement. The available shades are:
The old 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 engine, which seemed a bit sluggish, is out. Instead, Jeep has replaced it with a 1.4-liter turbo inline four-cylinder motor. This unit delivers 180 horsepower and 175 pounds-feet of torque. It pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and a front-wheel drivetrain comes standard with the base trim. However, trims above that level have standard all-wheel-drive. The FWD model will go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 9.0-seconds and has a top speed of 122 miles per hour. Then, there is the excellent fuel efficiency of the 2022 Jeep Renegade. The subcompact crossover has a 12.7-gallon gas tank, and it gets an estimated 24 MPG city, 32 MPG highway, and 27 MPG combined.
